My Husband is Da Bomb!

Love is such a wonderful thing that God created. Especially the unity of a marriage. My awesome husband surprised me at work with one of my favorite flowers: orchids. He also brought a hello kitty balloon and made cute coupons for me to use. My favorite coupon is the "Man Slave Coupon". I am so grateful for the man God has blessed me with.

Don't get me wrong. We are not by any means perfect! Marriage does take work on both ends. It's not always going to be peachy. One marriage advice that has kept us going is to keep God in the center of your home, marriage and lives. You will be amazed at the changes he can do to you and to your spouse.

Cherish your husbands ladies!

Sealed With A Kiss

Jeweled Strips - $6.99 Target

So I stumbled across these at Target and remembered seeing them on Pinterest without a link - Kiss Nail Dress. These are pretty similar to Sally Hansen Nail Effects. Had to get them and try them out. One added bonus to these are that you do not need nail polish remover to take them off. They last about 5 good days. No dry time and can be used on toes. This certain design has 3D effect. Stay tune for a comparison review: Kiss vs. Sally Hansen.

DIY: Scarf Holder

Here is a I should of thought of that moment. Man there are so many creative ideas in the Pinterest world. The original one was a wooden hanger with pink plastic rings, which I'm not a fan of so I decided to add some style and flare to my scarf hanger. Went to Marshalls this weekend and bought pink hangers and cute shower curtain hangers to do this project since I no longer need to use scarves. How simple& easy is this!

Materials: Hanger, Shower Curtain Rings & Ribbon

Add the rings onto the hanger, add a cute bow and you have yourself a pimpin scarf holder. Ok not the pimpin part.

DIY: Lace Bangle

I can't get enough of lace! I recently saw a lace bangle on Pinterest that I couldn't find anywhere. Instead, I ended up making the bracelet when I found a plain bangle for $1. I wanted it to be a gold undertone so I'll have to keep searching for a gold plain bangle. Here's what to do and what you'll need.

What you'll need:
Bangle
Lace
Ribbon
Hot Glue Gun

Instructions:

  1. Measure lace to fit perfectly on the outside of the bangle and wide enough to fold inside.
  2. Center the lace on the outside of the bangle.
  3. At the 2 ends, hot glue little by little to secure the lace onto the bangle and let dry.
  4. Pull on the excess lace from both sides, fold them inside to meet at the center and hot glue.
  5. Continue step 4 until all lace is folded and glued inside.
  6. Measure enough ribbon to wrap around the inner bangle.
  7. Take one end of the ribbon, center it in the inner bangle, lift the back and hot glue.
  8. Continue step 7 until both ends meet.
  9. Let Dry
  10. Ready to Wear!

Coastal Scents - 88 Original Palette

Coastal Scents
Finally bought the 88 Original Palette from Coastal Scents. Bonus: It came with a glitter sample and a makeup addict sticker! I've tried the shimmer palette in the past but the results of the pigments were not what I wanted. I am really pleased with the color pigments for this palette. I had great results with my St Patty's Day makeup. Very affordable, great pigmentation, and a great variety of colors. Highly Recommended! Next up is Easter Makeup.

Eyeshadow Tip: When your eyeshadow crumbles apart,  use rubbing alcohol to put it back together.

Rubbing Alcohol
Paper Towel or Tissue Paper
A Coin that fits the circumference of the eyeshadow case

Step 1: Add a couple drops of alcohol into the eyeshadow. Make sure it is saturated.
Step 2: Place a paper towel or tissue paper over the eyeshadow.
Step 3: Place the coin on top of the paper and re-compact the eyeshadow.

DIY: Hair Clip Holder

I was browsing through Michaels when I first got my gears going for crafting. I wasn't sure what I would make. I ran across a thin wooden frame. I really liked the shape to it. Very Vintage!

Few ideas I had for it: Mirror, Picture Frame, Chalk Board and Hair Clip Holder.
I ended up going with the hair clip holder.

Materials:
 Wood Frame
Acrylic Paint
Foam Brush
Hot Glue Gun & Glue
Ribbon 5/16"
Lace Ribbon

Instructions:
  1. Paint the 1st side of the frame and let dry.
  2. Paint the 2nd side and let dry.
  3. Cut 4 pieces of ribbon, measuring from top of frame to the bottom.
  4. Flip frame to the back. Mark 4 dots, spaced out, going across the top of the frame.
  5. Hot glue the 1st end of the ribbon to dot one and let dry.
  6. Hot Glue the 2nd end of the ribbon to the bottom of the frame, keeping it straight & tight.
  7. Continue steps 5 - 6 for the other three remaining ribbons.
  8. Use the lace ribbon, loop through the to holes on the frame, tie a knot (leaving room so you use it to hang the frame) and make a bow.
  9. Voila!

Baileys and Coffee Cupcake!

Baileys and Coffee Cupcake (right)
The Cupcakery
Kir Royale

Hubby & I stopped at The Cupcakery, after dinner and picked up a traditional favorite: Bugsys (A carrot cake cupcake w/ cream cheese frosting). Also picked up a Kir Royale (Rasberry cake w/ champagne frosting) but then I came across a Baileys and Coffee Cupcake. Mmmm... it just tantalized my taste-buds! Man I should of thought of this. So I found a recipe online that I'm planning to try.

Baileys & Coffee Cupcakes

From: The Hazel Bloom
Adapted from Martha Stewart
Yield: 15 cupcakes

Ingredients:

Cupcakes:

  • 2 tablespoons instant espresso powder + additional espresso powder for dusting
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs

Frosting:

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Baileys Irish Cream

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prep 15 standard 1/2-cup-size muffin cups with liners.
  2. In a small bowl or mug, pour the boiling water over the espresso powder, stir, and let cool.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add the Baileys to the water and espresso.
  5. In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter and the granulated sugar and brown sugar with a mixer on medium speed, until light yellow and fluffy, about three minutes.
  6. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  7. Add the flour in thirds, alternating with the espresso-Baileys mixture. Continue beating until well combined.
  8. Fill the fifteen muffin cups about three-quarters full.
  9. Bake for about 20 – 22 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cupcakes comes out clean.
  10. Remove from oven, let cool for about five minutes, then remove the cupcakes to wire racks to cool completely.
  11. Make the frosting. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment (or in a large bowl if you’re using a hand mixer), pour in the whipping cream (the colder the whipping cream and the bowl, the better for whipping). Beat at low speed until the whipping cream begins to thicken. Add the Baileys and the powdered sugar, then turn the mixer to high and beat until the whipping cream thickens enough to form semi-stiff peaks.
  12. Spread the whipped cream onto the cupcakes with a knife, or you can spoon it into a pastry bag fitted with the tip of your choice or even a Ziploc bag with the corner snipped off, then squeeze the icing onto the cupcakes.
  13. Sprinkle a bit of espresso powder on top of each cupcake.
  14. And enjoy!

Braids, Flowers & Waves

 Simple & Quick Hair Style

 To create this look:
  1. Create 2 side braids. (regular, french, fishtail, etc) One on each side. Secure it with bobby pins close to the top center of your head. I did small regular braids for quickness.
  2. Add a small flower on each side, where the bobby pins are to conceal. (flowers, bows, both, etc) I'm using small flowers clips bought from H&M.
  3. Add the last flower in the center of the 2 flowers.
  4. Use a 3 Barrel to add waves to your hair. (3 barrel, curling iron, straight, etc)
 Happy Braiding!

DIY: Movie Gift Basket

Happy Birthday B-Rad! Today is my future Brother-in-laws Birthday. Hubby & I weren't sure what to get him so my sister suggested music or movie tickets. I hate giving gift cards. Seems so impersonal but then again I'd rather let them pick what they want than not use what I got them.

Movie Gift Card it is! Last night, I remembered that they had these popcorn cups at Target in the dollar section. I went to buy it. I threw in some candy, popcorn & the gift card and Wha-La... a more personal gift.

What you need & some suggestions:
  • Popcorn Cup - Target $1
  • Tissue Pape
  • Cellophane - Michaels
  • Ribbon
  • Bows
  • Popcorn Bag
  • Candy Box Movie Size
  • Misc Candy (can be pretty much anything): Lollipops, Candy Bars, Bags of Candy, Etc
  • Movie Gift Card or Tickets

Start by stuffing tissue paper in the cup. Then add tissue paper like you would in a bag. Add the goodies in an re-arrange however you like. Wrap up with cellophane. Tie with a ribbon & add bows.

You can also do this for a movie night in. Instead of a gift card, use a DVD/Blu-ray movie. I enjoy putting together gift baskets! Until the next birthday...

I Heart Komex! This is one of my favorite restaurants in Las Vegas. They specialize in Korean & Mexican Fusion. A very nice change from everything else around here. Some of my favs are: Bulgogi Sliders, Fusion Burrito, Carne Asada Fries, & Bulgogi Tostada (served on a bed of slightly crispy rice in place of the tostada shell.)This place has addictive food and is very affordable.

A definite drop in if your in Vegas.

How to Keep Bathroom Baseboards Clean

The dreaded LITTER BOX! When we moved into our new place I was trying to figure out what to do with the baseboard in our bathroom. If you guys are cat owners, you know that bathrooms are a wet place. Litter + H2O do not mix well with caulking along the baseboard. Once it clays on the caulking, you will not be able to remove it unless you re-caulk. Who wants to do that?! So I figured out a solution to assist in this problem. PACKAGING TAPE!

All you do is tape along the baseboard and floor. The caulking is the mid-point. Double up the tape for extra security. Firmly press along the tape to make sure it adheres to the baseboard and floor. Plus, you will barely see it!

1st Run: Litter managed to get in between the tape but all I did was pull the old tape off and applied new tape. When you pull the tape off, the litter is already stuck to the tape, Easy Cleaning!

2nd Run: Double up the tape & take it higher. Wha-La... Litter Be Gone! Not only did it keep the litter away from the caulking but it also kept the dust & dirt from getting embedded on the base board.

I did this throughout the whole bathroom including along the tub, toilet, wall and my baseboards look clean & NEW!

    HAPPY TAPING!
